Healthy Habits sandwich bar franchise to open cafe concept

A new cafe-style concept for sandwich bar franchise Healthy Habits will soon be unveiled in the Prana Centre at Nerang in the Gold Coast hinterland.

Katherine Sampson, Managing Director and Founder of the healthy eating franchise network, said the new cafe-style store marked the third model available in the franchise. The company has just launched its second model, an airport kiosk concept, at the Qantas Terminal 1 at Melbourne Airport.

“We’ve spent a lot of time and money researching what the market wanted and realised there was an opportunity to offer a better dining experience to our customers through a cafe-style outlet,” she said. “We developed a new menu and created a funky, friendly environment for people to enjoy but we maintained our focus on encouraging healthy food and living.

“This store is sure to be a great success in Nerang and we look forward to launching more new cafe-style stores across Australia over the coming year.”

Store manager Steve Fraser said the cafe would offer light meals with an emphasis on high protein and low-carb menu options to cater for the increasing demand for healthier fast food options.

“Healthy Habits Nerang offers a slightly different menu to the Healthy Habits food court model as we are focused on catering for members of the gym at the Prana Centre as well as the business people working in around the centre and local residents.

“Our menu includes premium coffee, fresh fruit and vegetable juices, smoothies, sandwiches and deli items all with an emphasis on fresh ingredients.”

The café seats about 100, said Fraser, and there are plans to add function catering to the service. “We’re also applying for a liquor licence to expand our offer.”

To celebrate the opening of the new store, Healthy Habits Nerang is offering special meal deals to those working in and around the Prana Centre and for local residents.
