The latest National STAR Report released by research hub, the HR Coach Research Institute, reveals the critical confidence crisis amongst Australian employers for 2009 is slowing down jobs growth.

The National STAR Report initiative provides an internal perspective on pressures within Australian workplaces across industries and Australian States.

Latest findings show that National Employer Confidence is at a critical level and is at risk of reducing business productivity levels. Following the release of the report, focus groups were held nationally by Louise Broekman, the founder of the advisory franchise, to gain feedback direct from employers and business advisors.

Louise Broekman says “with the National internal Employer Confidence sitting at only 65% it is a major concern for both the economy and individual businesses. The feedback from the focus groups is demonstrating that business owners and employees are concerned about the future but do not know what actions to take to protect their businesses or jobs. This lack of direction is putting unprecedented pressure on business and jobs growth. Something must be done.”

To coincide with the book launch, HR Coach coaching franchise is hosting a free networking event for local business owners and professionals to get together and learn how the business community can sustain and even grow their business through an economic downturn.

Just 1 Job is an initiative to focus each individual in the workplace on what they can influence. With the right focus, every person in every organisation can contribute. The Just 1 Job Initiative is about providing that focus.

The three key initiatives that businesses can work on internally with their employees include:

  • Create Jobs
  • Sustain Jobs
  • Innovate Jobs

“The mandate is clear,” said Louise Broekman, “everyone can make a difference. If we all just focus on the goal of Just 1 Job, then opportunities for greater sustainability and jobs growth will be created from within”.

The HR Coach Research Institute supports a national network of specialists focused on integrating people management into strategic business planning and is continually developing new approaches, products and systems to boost the powerhouse SME sector in Australia.
