Grill'd conclude month-long charity campaign
Grill’d healthy fast food franchises have concluded their month-long charity campaign in support of the Feed Melbourne campaign in Victoria and OzHarvest in New South Wales.
The campaign put power in the hands of Grill’d customers who, after purchasing their burger or meal, were given a token and asked to place it in one of three charity jars representing three local groups associated with the charities.
These groups are at the coal-face of providing much needed support to people who are doing it tough.
The Feed Melbourne campaign aims to raise funds to support charities collection and distribution of food to Victorians in a hard spot. It is estimated that 370,000 Victorians will at some stage not know when or where their next meal is coming from.
OzHarvest is a charity that rescues excess food from the dumpsters, delivering meals to charities that support the vulnerable. Sydney’s OzHarvest delivers 150,000 meals per month from their fleet of seven vans.
Grill’d hopes to continue the charity jars as a regular fixture in all of their healthy fast food franchises as part of their Local Matters project which the franchise plans to expand to include other states in the near future.
While the final count is yet to be completed, Grill’d estimated and hoped to raise over $20,000.
The initiative is part of the healthy fast food franchise’s Local Matters project which will soon be expanded to include other states as well as Victoria and New South Wales.
Each month, the Local Matters trolley will feature three local charity groups asking patrons for their support. In addition, each Grill’d franchise will produce a $500 charity to share between the groups.
