In your opinion, what is driving the success of healthier food franchises?
Obviously the various media outlets are playing their part, particularly reality television shows like The Biggest Loser and You Are What You Eat. Additionally we’re noticing the impact of a concerted push by the various state Governments to curb childhood obesity.
Are people moving away from unhealthy diets, or simply adding healthier selections to their diet?
Fast food is becoming a daily standard in a lot of people’s lives. We’d like to think that the healthy options are alleviating some of the problems typically associated with that fast food fix.
Are people prepared to pay more for freshness and quality?
Absolutely and unequivocally, but it’s still hard to imagine the budget conscious among us opting for the more expensive, if healthier, items every day.
Do you believe people are becoming more aware of what they’re eating?
Without doubt – more and more customers are taking the time to enquire about our dressings and sauces. They want nutritional information to be readily available so that they can make informed choices.
Is the overall trend for healthier food likely to continue?
We’re confident that we’ve moved past the trend or fad phase of the push toward healthy fast food and that current education will help establish genuinely healthier eating habits amongst an emerging customer base of school age children.
