Gloria Jean’s Coffee makes Cappuccino for a Cause
Gloria Jean’s Coffee recently held a charity event that involved donating 50c to the childrens charity, Variety, for every cappuccino sold on Friday 28 to Saturday 29 October 2011.
All Gloria Jean’s Coffee house franchises will be participating charity event including special guests Australian cricketer Nathan Bracken, Channel 7 TV presenter Karen Ledbury and also model Laura Andon.
"During the final weekend cappuccino drinkers across Australia can buy a cup of their favourite coffee and contribute to this worthy cause,” says Bracken.
“Many coffee houses will also be creating a family day on the Saturday with special activities for the kids, and playing host to local celebrities who are also keen to support Variety."
Variety, the Children’s Charity, focuses in providing assistance for children who are sick, disadvantaged or have special needs.
With the help of Gloria Jean’s Coffee, the Cappuccino for a Cause aims to raise $150,000 to fund the purchase of three Sunshine coaches in order to assist children to be transported to school and community events.
According to David Small, Chief Executive of Variety, the money raised by the coffee franchises would provide children the chance to enjoy the ability to be mobile, free and independent.
"Variety runs on the smell of an oily rag, so with an initiative like this we're raising money but also raising awareness. To have this partnership is very special,” says Small.
Gloria Jean’s Coffee shop franchises hopes the money raised from Cappuccino for a Cause can also provide two swing-sets that are custom-built for children in wheelchairs.
