Graham Ruddell commenced in the building industry as a 15 year old apprentice bricklayer in Ayr. He later branched out into other areas and became a multi-skilled builder. At the age of 20 he married and decided shortly after to commence his own business trading as GTR Construction.

Over the years he has been involved in hundreds of projects in the Burdekin, Bowen & Townsville area and specialises in residential dwellings.

Graham commenced with GJ Gardner Homes in June 2001 to be involved with a building company at the forefront of the building industry with marketing and designs. His most memorable projects included winning the QMBA State Award for Building Project over $1m in 2000 and Best Display Home $200 - $250k in 2005.

Grahams most challenging constuction project so far involved constructing homes on Magnetic Island - the only transport for people and materials is via ferry and barge and it takes a lot of planning and liaising amongst subcontactors and suppliers.

The best thing about being apart of the GJ Gardner team is the corporate support and regular franchise meetings to discuss ideas, new products, problems & solutions. The systems GJ Gardner have in place makes them unique - the GJ Gardner procedures are something that other builders do not have in place. These procedures and systems allow Graham and his team to complete and monitor every detail throughout the construction of your new home.

Graham enjoys helping people achieve one of their biggest dreams - the building of their own home. One of Graham’s proudest moments was being chosen to be an Olympic torch relay runner for the 2000 games where he ran a leg through the main street of his home town. His uniform & torch are proudly displayed in the office.

Graham and his team are heavily involved in their local community and sponsor several projects. The various projects include teenage drug awareness with books being circulated through high schools in Queensland, fun days for under privileged kids, providing shirts for the ladies vigoro state titles and advertising for the Cowboys NRL team.
