Franchise Council of Australia celebrates West Australia winners of Excellence in Franchising Awards

This week Western Australia celebrated winners of the Franchise Council of Australia ’s Excellence in Franchising Awards, with the franchise advisory body announcing the regional award recipients at a gala dinner on Friday night.

Mr Rental South West franchisee Michael Caddy took out the WA Franchisee Community Service Award, having donated over $10,000 to charities in the last financial year alone.

Also demonstrating it is more than just money that can help, Michael donates the use of his Mr Rental facilities for the Bunbury Young Voices to practice and the Leukaemia Foundation to hold fund raising events.

As a successful business owner, Michael believes that it is his responsibility to get involved with local community groups and help out as best he can.

Owner and director of Frontline Retail Perth, Bronwyn Butcher, was announced by the franchise advisory body as the WA Franchise Woman of the Year.

Having sustained year on year growth for nine years, Bronwyn’s business skills have seen her take out the 2008 WA Franchisee of the Year Award and the 2009 Multi-Unit Franchisee of the Year Award.

Bronwyn provides business coaching to up and coming female franchisees within the Frontline system, and is a regular participant in women-focused business groups, where she regularly gives key note presentations and advice.

Other winners included:

• Fadi Mikhael, Looksmart Alterations (WA Multi-Unit Franchisee of the Year)
• Diane and Darrell Doust, PoolWerx (WA Field Manager of the Year); and
• Michael Caddy, Mr Rental South West (WA Franchisee of the Year – Two or more staff Award).

The franchise advisory body is gearing up for the Queensland and Northern territory awards night on the 10th September.

National winners will be announced on the 12th October at a Gala National Awards dinner, held as the finale to the 2010 National Franchise Convention.
