FCA host Olympian, Brennon Dowrick at NSW/ACT annual awards night
The Franchise Council of Australia (FCA) held their annual NSW/ACT State Conference and Franchising Excellence Awards in Sydney on 8 July, where guests were treated to a presentation by Olympian, Brennon Dowrick.
The focus of the evening was putting in ‘that little bit extra’ and reaping the potentially huge rewards.
Dowrick informed guests of the difference an extra fifteen minutes in the gym, after everyone else had left, made to his sporting career.
The first person to win a gymnastics Commonwealth gold for Australia at the 1990 Commonwealth Games, Dowrick said his extra fifteen minutes was analogous to business success.
FCA Executive Director, Steve Wright backed up Dowrick’s claims saying that a 1% change to sales and costs can greater than 15% in profitability.
“The winners of the FCA Franchising Excellence Awards in NSW/ACT are obviously putting in the work to find that little bit extra – whether it be profitability, community contribution or helping others to achieve their goals,” Mr Wright said.
Winners of the state award that recognises the success of hard working small business people in the franchising sector included franchisees from Boost Juice, Lollypots, ActionCOACH and Poolwerx.
State awards for South Australian and Queensland/ Northern Territory will occur over the next month with the national awards announced at a gala dinner at the climax of the FCA National Conference in Melbourne on 11 October.
