The franchising dream is alive and well according to Fastway Couriers
At one time or another most people dream of becoming their own boss; to take control of their own future; to get a piece of their own proverbial pie.
For those that worry about going it alone, ‘going into business for yourself, but not by yourself’ is certainly one of the major reasons for the ongoing interest and success of the franchising sector.
The Franchising & Business Opportunities Expo held in Sydney during March attracted record crowds and would-be entrepreneurs, all eager to get into the ever growing small business arena.
Courier franchise group, Fastway Couriers attended the expo and achieved more than 150 franchise leads as a direct result; an increase of more than 30% on last year’s expo results.
Chris Byrne, Franchise Development Manager with the courier franchise group in Sydney explained, “The Franchising Expo offers a fantastic opportunity for Fastway. Not only is it a great way to get our brand into the marketplace, but it also puts us in direct contact with numerous potential franchisees in a relaxed atmosphere – a great way to have an informal chat about some of the great opportunities we have available.”
Together with a team of dedicated Fastway professionals who work at the coal face with the already 180-strong team of Courier Franchisees at Fastway’s Homebush-based facility, Chris gave potential franchisees the opportunity to talk openly with the people who would work with them on a day-to-day basis.
“Our Franchise Business Managers have a core objective to provide ongoing support and guidance in meeting each Courier Franchisee’s business goals, making them the ideal people to discuss the opportunity”, says Chris.
As the largest depot in the 650-strong national courier franchise network, Chris believes that Fastway Sydney’s strong focus on providing exceptional support to their Courier Franchisees is the main reason why they continue to generate keen interest among would-be small business owners.
When asked about the future of franchising, Chris is quick to pay reference to the extraordinary crowds at the 2010 Franchising Expo; the third consecutive year that the Fastway team have been in attendance.
“If the expo results are anything to go by, franchising is certainly alive and well and shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon. There are a lot of motivated people looking to take control of their futures by investing in a small business; the backbone of Australia’s economy …and Fastway is more than happy to be a part of that.”
