A Fastway to Cancer Research for delivery services franchises
Fastway Couriers delivery services franchises are once again signing on to the Cancer Council’s biggest cancer awareness and fundraising event, Daffodil Day, this year.
Daffodil Day is Friday the 27th August, 2010, with stalls across NSW manned by 5000 volunteers distributing merchandise at train stations, shopping centres and other public places.
As a silver sponsor, Fastway delivery services franchises will make more than 700 deliveries free of charge to volunteer sellers across NSW the day before the event.
Mobile franchises including the Gold Coast, Northern Rivers, Coffs Harbour, Port Macquarie, Newcastle, Central Coast, Sydney and Wolllongong among others will be working overtime to ensure that all 700+ locations receive fresh daffodils in preparation of the day.
Fastway delivery services franchises have supported Daffodil Day and the Cancer Council for many years but 2010 marks the biggest number of franchises supporting this worthy cause.
National marketing manager of Fastway Melissa Dwyer says that “cancer really is something that affects everyone, so it’s a cause that our Franchisees really get behind. We are proud again to support Daffodil Day and look forward to the success that is achieved.”
Kate Gregory, event coordinator for Daffodil Day is relieved to once again have Fastway delivery services franchises on board for the event.
“We are delighted to again have Fastway supporting this cause, without them it would be nearly impossible to get fresh daffodils to the volunteers so it’s a great partnership,” she says.
The Daffodil is the international symbol of hope for all people affected by cancer and with 1 in 2 Australians diagnosed with cancer before the age of 85, cancer really is a disease that touches everyone.
The Cancer Council hopes to raise $3.7 million in NSW alone on the day.
