A successful outcome in Auckland, New Zealand, and a new twist to an old story

A local success, Hubbard Foods Ltd, was formed in 1988 and has now become a major force in the breakfast cereal market in New Zealand.

Following discussions with Doug Paulin, CEO of Hubbard Foods, Robert MacKenzie of Expense Reduction Analysts cost management consultancy franchise, was engaged to investigate the Office Supplies expenditures of the company.

It's a familiar story. Hubbard Foods Ltd was using two suppliers expecting that the competition would encourage better prices and service. A well known proverb says "never put all your eggs in one basket."

However, one business commentator put a new twist to that proverb by encouraging companies to "put all your eggs in one basket, but watch that basket closely."

The work done by Expense Reduction Analysts accounting services business resulted in savings of 37 per cent per annum with no reduction in quality or disruption to business operations.
