Eagle Boys Pizza to expand after 300th store opening
Eagle Boys Pizza are set to open a record 50 new pizza franchise stores across Australia this year, as part of a $20 million expansion strategy which will cement the company’s position as the country’s second largest pizza maker.
It comes as Eagle Boys Pizza recently opened its 300th store, located at Ryde, Sydney. During the past three years, Eagle Boys has opened 108 stores across the country and was recently named a BRW Fast Franchise.
The new expansion strategy will see Eagle Boys grow its pizza franchise store numbers by more than 17% in 2010.
Eagle Boys CEO Todd Clayton said the company’s double-digit store and sales growth was being fuelled by growing demand for better pizzas, online ordering, strong sales growth and a high level of inquiries from potential franchisees.
“During the past 12 months, our sales have climbed considerably spurred by the launch of our premium menu offering quality, tasty pizzas without the gourmet pizza price,” he said.
“Helping this has been the fact that families are still looking to save money. While they may not be heading out to dinner as much, they’re still looking for an inexpensive but great-tasting treat which gives them a night out of the kitchen.
“In recent months, we’ve also seen inquiries from potential franchisees soar. Each month we receive anywhere up to 250 individual inquiries from people wanting to join our award-winning system. This puts us in a great position to be able to select those budding entrepreneurs who we feel best suit the Eagle Boys system and will be successful in driving their own franchise,” added Clayton.
While new Eagle Boys Pizza franchise stores are to be opening across Australia, Sydney and Adelaide will remain a key focus.
“We only entered the Sydney and Adelaide markets in 2008 so there are still plenty of opportunities for us in these key areas. Our research shows there is strong demand for our pizzas here which is why half of all the store openings planned for 2010 will be in these two cities,” said Clayton.
“The 50-store opening target we have for this year is a record for Eagle Boys. In 2007, we opened just 34 stores and the annual number of new stores has been significantly climbing since then.”
Eagle Boys Pizza is 100% Australian owned and is one of the country's largest pizza makers. It employs more than 4,000 staff and making more than 17 million pizzas a year.
