South African booklovers plan to expand Dymocks books franchises in WA
For thirteen years, South Africans Ken and Anna-Maria Cosgrove have loved the city of Perth, and this year they plan to follow their daughter Janine and migrate to Australia, helping her to run two Dymocks books franchises.
Ken and Anna-Maria have owned and operated Dymocks books franchises in Belmont and Whitford City from their homeland for the past nine months, with the help of their daughter Janine, who has been managing both stores.
The couple fell in love with Perth back in 1998 while following the Rugby Union Tri-Nations, and have known that they wanted to one day make Perth their home ever since.
Ken and Anna-Maria will move to Perth in June, and plan to open a third Dymocks books franchise in Bunbury soon after.
"We have previously owned retail motor franchises in South Africa and enjoyed seeing our goals come to fruition. Our whole family are booklovers and Dymocks appeared to be a very well run organisation, so when the opportunity to own and run two Dymocks bookstores in Perth came to light, we jumped on it," Ken explains.
Janine Cosgrove has degrees in both accounting and forensic criminology, and originally moved to Australia to enter one of these industries. Since managing the two Dymocks stores in her parent's absence, however, Janine has fallen in love with franchising.
"For the past three months Janine has been managing the two stores with the help of Joelene Ball at the Whitford store and a wonderful team. Considering I have been in the franchise game for 30 years and involved in some big brands, I can recommend Dymocks to anyone. Their systems, support and people have proved to be outstanding. I can certainly understand why Janine has been won over," concludes Ken.
