Westridge Domino’s Pizza franchise slices eating record

Westridge residents broke Toowomba’s pizza-eating record by devouring more than 3,500 pizzas at the Westridge Domino’s franchise .

The previous record was set in late 2004 by Toowoomba residents who ate 1,800 pizzas.

To help push Westridge over the line, the Westridge fast food franchise market manager Deb Ramm said the store sold pickup pizzas from $3.95 throughout the day.

“A huge number of people turned up at the store to grab a pizza and see the circus inside the newly refurbished store – as you can imagine, the tomato sauce was flying thick and fast on the day,” Ms Ramm said in regards to the pizza franchise.

“We even recruited additional staff from Brisbane to ensure we could keep up with orders from the thousands of hungry customers that turned up on the day.”

In other news, Melbournians experienced a shark attack of a new kind, as a convoy of more than 20 Domino’s franchise land sharks glided through the city encouraging jobseekers to apply for a position at Domino’s Pizza.

Fast food franchise stores throughout Victoria are hungry for an additional 500 delivery drivers to keep up with the demand for fresh, hot pizzas during the hectic football season – one of the busiest pizza periods on the Domino’s calendar.

The pizza franchise operations manager Jamie Smith said growing sales in Victoria had prompted the need for additional delivery drivers in stores throughout the state.

“Some people work at Domino’s Pizza for some extra pocket money while at school or to them get through university studies, while others discover that Domino’s Pizza offers a lot of career opportunities,” he said.

Meanwhile, Domino’s franchise Hurlstone Park has been named Canterbury small business of the year.

Up against Pizza Hut, Subway and a fast-food seafood restaurant, the fast food franchise was the clear favourite amongst the group.

The contestants were nominated by the public and scored by an independent judge on cleanliness, signage, product pricing and most importantly customer service and product quality.

NSW regional manager Adam Labbard said he was thrilled Domino’s Pizza Hurlstone Park was recognised for its outstanding achievements.

“The evening was great! We were awarded with a massive trophy, a certificate and a free advertisement in the local paper,” he said.
