Growth of pizza franchises prompts Dominos Pizza Enterprises to expand

A growing demand for business opportunities within its network of Dominos Pizza Enterprises boost and restructure its development and franchise department to meet demand.

Pat McMichael has been promoted to Chief Development and Franchising Officer. In this role, he will be responsible for overseeing all new store development projects in Australia and New Zealand while also recruiting franchisees to fill new and existing opportunities for pizza franchises.

Mr McMichael has held a variety of roles across the business since joining Dominos in 1990, and says that the company has been experiencing a surge in franchisee enquiries and applications in the past twelve months.

Significantly, he notes that the majority of enquiries received have turned into serious applications, bolstered by a strong growth year within the company.

“We are seeing a lot of people choose Domino’s over other franchise options due to our strong brand position, solid financial results and the success of other franchisees in our network – people want to franchise with a reputable brand with proven success,” Mr McMichael says.

The company has welcomed more than 22 new pizza franchises in the past six months, and has new and existing store opportunities available right across Australia and New Zealand.

While the company is looking to expand nationally, Mr McMichael says that the Melbourne market and regional areas continue to be the main focus for expanding the network of pizza franchises.

“We have already seen huge success in adapting our store design to suit different locations,” Mr McMichael adds.

“For example we now have our Domino’s 2 Go model in 23 stadiums and three theme parks across Australia. These stores are trading very well and are opening the Domino’s brand to new customers which is helping build sales growth.”
