Dominos pizza franchises fast track development plans on the back of strong earnings

Dominos Pizza Enterprises  have been able to fast track their new store building program across the country due to strong earnings and Same Store Sales (SSS) growth reported for the first half of the 2011 financial year.

With 35 new pizza franchises currently under development and set to open this calendar year, the new stores have been fast tracked to satisfy customer demand and new franchisee enquiries.

The fast food franchises 2011 half year results revealed the strongest SSS growth in the past 8 years with 10.9% across its Australian market allowing the plans to be moved forward.

Dominos Chief Development and Franchising Officer, Pat McMichael says the number of store openings reflects one of the largest growth periods for the first publicly-listed pizza franchises in Australia.

“This period of new store growth will be one of the biggest in recent times in terms of organic store growth for Australia," Mr McMichael said.

“We currently have 456 stores in the country but as the population grows and new regional hubs emerge there is now a high demand for new stores.

“We are confident we have selected the right locations for successful stores and our recent strong sales performance means we have new and existing franchisees ready to go in these stores as soon as they are built.”

The pizza franchises appearance on Undercover Boss Australia late last year sparked an all time high in new franchisee interest that has steadily increased since Dominos recorded their first half results for the 2011 Financial Year.

“Our appearance on Undercover Boss Australia late last year opened up our business to a whole new audience of prospective franchisees and small business owners. The show gave them an invaluable insight into the daily operations of our business, something which many new business owners don’t get the opportunity to see,” Mr McMichael said.

Strong sales success over the first half of the 2011 Financial Year has also given the pizza franchises greater appeal over other fast food franchises and franchise businesses.
