Dominos Pizza franchises introduce new reduced fat, full taste mozzarella cheese

Commencing on 1st January, 2011, Dominos will introduce a new full taste mozzarella cheese across its network of pizza franchises that has 14% less fat than previous varieties.

Dominos CEO Don Meij explains that the decision to change cheese suppliers is part of Dominos continuing focus on providing healthier and tastier products at affordable prices at its 438 Australian pizza franchises.

“Our customers have said they want healthier options and we believe this is the right step forward for us to be able to deliver on that,” he says.

Not wanting to cut any corners on taste just to get a healthier product, Mr Meij assures customers that the new lower fat cheese is still full of flavour.

He says that with cheese being one of the highest cost ingredients on a pizza, the company had to think innovatively in order to be able to provide a healthier alternative at its take away franchises, without compromising on quality or taste.

“We know one of the most important decision making factors for our customer is price. This new cheese will enable us to keep the price of our pizzas low while also improving their overall quality and nutritional value,” he says.
