Dominos Pizza Enterprises announces strong sales growth at pizza franchises

At its Annual General Meeting this week, Dominos Pizza Enterprises announced that same store sales at its company stores and pizza franchises have been strong for the first four months of the 2011 financial year.

Same store sales in Australia and New Zealand have experienced a growth of 9.35%, with European company stores and take away franchises reporting 4.21% growth, it was reported.

Resulting in a 7.83% aggregated sales growth across the group, this reaffirms the company’s Full Year 2011 Guidance of NPAT growth between 10% and 15%.

Speaking at the AGM, Dominos Pizza CEO Don Meij highlighted strong promotions across all five countries as a significant contributor to the recent positive performance, despite increases in the value of the Australian dollar.

He said that the Dominos group is on track with its forecast of opening 50 to 60 company stores and pizza franchises by June, 2011.

Europe, Mr Meij noted, remains a significant focus for future growth.

“Our European operations continue to provide significant long term growth opportunities and as a result we are very focused on adding scale in this market through increasing our store count and growing sales,” he affirmed.

Mr Meij explained that a focus on store operations and technology will be key drivers for future growth in Dominos company stores and pizza franchises.

“We are very committed to driving sales and efficiencies in the business through improved operations at a store level. In addition to improving our operations, technology is the second biggest growth area for us over the next 12 months,” he said.

As well as focusing on operations and investing in new technologies, Dominos Pizza plans to continue to introduce innovative new menu options at its pizza franchises and company stores.

“We will continue to invest in the menu platforms introduced over the past two years and look for further ways to improve the quality and taste of all ingredients,” Mr Meij said.
