Domino’s set to break a Guinness World Record

by Dominos Pizza Enterprises
On Thursday, 2 October, Domino’s Pizza will attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the Largest Wobble Boarding Ensemble, to celebrate their 25th anniversary of selling pizza in Australia.

The official Guinness World Record for the Largest Wobble Boarding Ensemble is set at 513 people, which means Domino’s fast food needs Brisbane’s help to smash the record and celebrate their 25th anniversary in style.

For taking part, all participants receive a complimentary Domino’s pizza voucher, free pizza after the record attempt as well as automatically going into the prize draw; which includes a year’s supply of pizza, Westfield vouchers and cash.

Domino’s CEO Don Meij said the Guinness World Record attempt is a way for Domino’s take away franchise to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Australia’s largest and most popular pizza delivery company in an unforgettable way.

“The pizza industry in Australia has come such a long way in the past 25 years. Domino’s started out in Australia with one store in Springwood, Queensland in 1983 and we now have more than 439 stores across the country and 747 stores globally,” Don said

“To celebrate our 25th birthday we need Brisbane’s help to smash the current Guinness World Record for the Largest Wobble Boarding Ensemble, and help us wobble our way into the record books!

“Wobble boarding is an intrinsic part of Domino’s culture, with our staff taking to the roadside daily to wobble discount offers at passing motorists. The Guinness World Record for the Largest Wobble Boarding Ensemble perfectly embodies Domino’s and our core belief of ‘sell more pizza, have more fun’.

“2008 is a huge milestone for us and we look forward to celebrating many more years as an Australian owned and operated company, so come down and take part in this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity – help us wobble our way into history!”

Taking place on 2 October from 9am, registration for the event will be held on the oval at Wavell Heights State High, Kedron, before the record attempt occurs on Gympie Rd outside Domino’s Kedron.

Domino’s Pizza Enterprises Limited food & beverage franchise is Australia’s only publicly-listed pizza company, making its debut on the Australian Stock Exchange in May 2005, and is the master franchisor for the Domino’s Pizza brand in Australia, New Zealand, France, Belgium and The Netherlands.
