Domino’s grows full year profit by 29.6%
The year’s profit was generated from Total Network Sales of $591.2 million, an increase of 13.9% on full year 2007. Same Store Sales for the full year grew 6.8% over the corresponding period last year.
During the 12 months to 29 June 2008, Domino’s Pizza fast food franchise added 78 stores bringing the total number of stores in the network to 741. This included 36 stores in Europe and 42 stores in Australia and New Zealand including five stadium stores.
Today, Domino’s Pizza Enterprises Limited food & beverage franchise has a network of 741 stores, including 437 in Australia, 71 in New Zealand, 135 in France, 14 in Belgium and 84 in The Netherlands.
The Company will pay shareholders a fully-franked dividend of 6.8 cents per share.
The dividend will be paid on 26 September 2008 with a record date of 8 September 2008.
Domino’s Pizza Enterprises Limited CEO and MD Don Meij said the full year result reflected the Company’s strong Network Sales growth and group Same Store Sales.
“The European market continues to track ahead of expectations with strong Same Store Sales growth of 13.36% while Australia and New Zealand increased by 4.08% above full year 2007. Sales and profits in the European market are also tracking ahead of schedule with EBITDA up 449% on the corresponding period,” Mr Meij said.
“The expansion experienced during the full year was a result of strong organic growth in Europe".
“More than half the stores in France are now New Image 2020 designs and a second commissary is now complete in Vertou, France.”
He said today recent sales had been aided by strong promotional success in Australia, New Zealand and Europe along with strong results in online ordering.
“Successful promotional launches in all three markets contributed to strong Same Stores Sales growth, including the Big Taste Range in Australia and the launch of TV advertising in France,” Mr Meij said.
“All markets continue to benefit from technological advances in internet ordering with The Netherlands now averaging 19.2% of all delivery orders placed online and more than 12% of Australian sales generated through internet ordering. We have also introduced a new telephone ordering number in Australia, 1300 DOMINOS and France recently launched a new four digit number, 3959.”
Domino’s Pizza Enterprises Limited is Australia’s only publicly-listed pizza company and is the master franchisor for the Domino’s Pizza brand in Australia, New Zealand, France, Belgium and The Netherlands.
Domino’s Pizza Enterprises Limited is Australia’s first publicly-listed take away pizza chain, making its debut on the Australian Stock Exchange in May 2005.
