Choice Magazine recently conducted a report into the healthiest and tastiest pizzas available and has revealed that the Good Choice Range of pizzas from Dominos Pizza Enterprises rate as the best for taste out of the healthy options available in the market.

Choice compared more than 190 brands and flavours available nationally from takeaway chains and supermarkets, comparing the overall taste, energy (kJ), total fat (g), saturated fat (g) and sodium (mg) for each.

Don Meij, CEO the pizza franchise network said the report reinforced the Company’s determination to make sure the Good Choice Range tastes great while offering lower calories, fat and sodium than traditional pizzas.

“We worked tirelessly to ensure our Good Choice Range pizzas tasted great before we launched them. Pizza is a treat and therefore it should be tasty, not bland or flavourless. We needed to make sure we had the right amount of balance nutritionally without compromising on taste,” Don said.

“We are thrilled with the results of this Choice Magazine report as it confirmed what we already knew, our Good Choice Range of pizzas really do taste great.

“Besides great taste we wanted our Good Choice Range pizzas to be great value for money by not skimping on the toppings. So it was fantastic to see the Choice experts comment that our pizzas were the best of the lot with too much topping with too many ingredients.”

Out of all the products compared, Domino’s recorded the lowest in Kilojoules and total fat per 100g and was one of the lowest in saturated fat and sodium per 100g.

A recent survey of over 3,200 Australians conducted by the fast food franchise network found that 48% of people find it most difficult to eat healthily when ordering takeaway due to the lack of healthy alternatives at fast food outlets. Also, 45% of people fall off the healthy eating bandwagon due to the lack of choice and tasty, healthy options available.

“In launching our Good Choice Range, we undertook customer research to explore the eating and exercise habits of Australians. The results provided us with a fantastic insight into the reasons why people find it hard to incorporate healthy eating into their busy lifestyles,” Don said.

“While our Good Choice Range provides healthy, tasty options it’s also about convenience – people can order delivery directly to their home and workplace or pick up while they are on the go. So there’s no excuse for people who are trying to eat healthy or reduce their calorie intake.”
