Senator dismisses any discussion on new commercial law governing franchising
by
DC Strategy
Senator Nick Sherry has again reinforced and made clear his position on the attempt to introduce legislation to govern franchisor conduct by the WA and SA governments.
Senator Sherry stated that the government does not intend on reviewing the Franchising Code of Conduct again before 2013 for two reasons,
- To provide the franchising sector with stability and confidence
- To give the reforms enough time to operate and then make an informed judgment on how effective they are
DC Strategy take the opinion that franchising in Australia requires a national approach and any dislocation of this approach will only prove to be detrimental to the sector.
