Where do you see your franchise in 12 months’ time?
We’ve experienced incredible growth in our first 18 months, selling 118 franchises. Our strategic plan is to grow the business to 300 units in the next 12 months, as well as enter the New Zealand market.
Why is your sector set for continuing growth?
Health and fitness is enjoying unprecedented exposure in the mass media through programs such as The Biggest Loser and The Great Weight Debate. Society generally is also focusing more on health issues as our population ages and the baby boomers reach retirement. We’ve chosen to focus on a key niche market by providing fitness to busy women looking for an alternative to the mainstream gym.
What are you looking for in a star franchisee?
We don’t necessarily look for star franchisees. We have a proven model that is extremely effective, if implemented correctly in the local market. The majority of our franchisees have never run a business before. However, we do look for qualities such as enthusiasm, commitment, sales and marketing experience, and determination. 23.07.2007
