BRW place ice cream franchises, Cold Rock high on their Fast Franchise list

After investing a lot of time and effort into improving their business model and expansion strategy, Cold rock Ice Creamery has climbed the ranks of BRW’s Fast Franchises List for 2011.

The ice cream franchises ranked 21st on BRW's list for the fastest growing franchise by revenue, up one position from the 2010 results.

They also jumped from 33 to 27 on the list for fastest growing franchises by outlets, a result that encapsulates the ice cream franchises stellar 2009-10 financial year.

Cold Rock recorded revenue exceeding $35 million for the last financial year, an average annual growth of 21.3 % for the dessert franchises.

Executive chairman, Stan Gordon from Melbourne-based owners, Franchised Food Company (FFCo) said, “Cold Rock is an ice cream retailer with many differences, particularly in the way we approach our business. With 95 dessert franchises across the nation, the ice cream franchise recorded an annual average growth of 21.3%.

“More exciting times are ahead,” Mr Gordon said referring to the upcoming opening of the ice cream franchises 100th store.
