Well travelled Frank to make coffee a local event

Seeking new frontiers is in the family bloodline, and Townsville Cafe2U mobile coffee franchise owner Frank Munnich is no different.

Frank launched Australian-born Café2U, a worldwide mobile coffee franchise, in Townsville in February and it is the latest adventure on a road well travelled.

“We originally moved to Australia from South Africa 10 years ago when my father secured a working visa and got work with a company in Rockhampton,” he said. “It’s there that I met my wife who was a local born and bred. After we were married in 2007 we decided to seek a change of scenery, which eventually led us to Townsville.”

The move has proven a successful one, with his new coffee run proving a hit with locals as he covers a West Townsville territory run mainly servicing businesses in the Bohle and Garbutt areas, including Ergon Energy and QBuild.

“The response has been wonderful, we obviously offer an established product and customers have responded. We are virtually at capacity with who we can service already.”

But like any relatively new local, he wants to become more involved with what’s happening in the community and sees servicing various local events as a way to do it.

“You feel like you are a highlight of the day for your customers, they are certainly happy to see us when we arrive. We want to offer our service away from the traditional workplace as well, whether it’s fundraisers, fetes, festivals or sporting events – wherever we are needed. It’s a more informal environment which is a nice way to do your work, but I suspect people will be no less happy to see us!”

Frank looked at a multitude of franchises before choosing his new career with a mobile coffee franchise.

“We had a list of requirements we wanted from a franchise and this one ticked most of the boxes. The lifestyle and the return on your investment for the hours you work are excellent.”
