Local businesses join bushfire relief effort
Local business owners have joined the Victorian bushfire relief effort, providing coffee to local Country Fire Authority (CFA) operations, shelters and meeting points.
Three Cafe2U mobile coffee service franchisees are doing the work as volunteers and provided the time, cups, milk and sugar while Cafe2u Head office are supplying the coffee beans.
“Our organisation, like so many other business, are shocked by the tragedy and want to help where we can. We encourage other businesses to do the same. Our franchisees were very passionate about helping the relief effort wherever possible and we were always going to give them our full support to do so,” said Cafe2U founder Andy Simpkin.
Tim Morgan, who operates in the Bendigo territory, has offered his assistance by providing coffee to local shelters and meeting points around the Bendigo area. He is also planning on donating a days sales to the relief effort.
Michael and Samantha Carne of the Port Melbourne territory provided the same gesture of support, providing coffee to shelters, meeting points on Sunday at Wallan and Monday evening at Kinglake.
On Sunday and Monday evening , and just one week into her new business venture, Portsea territory operator Jill Bilston helping provided coffee and other beverages to the local CFA operations close to her territory.
