Jenny Kidd awarded Cafe2U National Franchisee of the Year for 2009

Multi-franchisee owner Jenny Kidd of Forestville in NSW has two successful mobile Cafe2U Mobile Coffee Franchise vans and has been awarded National Franchisee of the Year for 2009.

The honorary award includes a three week trip to England and Europe where she will meet fellow representatives from Cafe2U UK.

Cafe2U is one of the world’s largest mobile coffee franchises, and with 100 franchises in Australia alone, Jenny’s win is significant. The award was won via a points-based system that took into account product sales, business maintenance, attendance at company meetings and several other criteria.

Jenny began her coffee venture when her infectious personality could no longer be held behind a desk. “It is a huge change from my previous job as a receptionist” says Jenny when purchasing her first Cafe2U mobile coffee van four years ago. “It occurred when my son, Jarrod, who was a Cafe2U franchisee, decided to travel overseas so I purchased the business from him”.

A mobile coffee franchise enables the franchisee to expand into new territories and after building a successful run in St Leonards, she hired an employee to work her old area while she expanded into Chatswood with a second van. This was all within a four year period.

Andy Simpkin founder of the mobile franchise company, explained, “The bigger results come down to the individual. Jenny’s passion for people and her relationship between her and her customers is one to be admired and is the key to her successes.”

Jenny’s love affair with her customers was no better evidenced than when she won a Lucky Door Prize at a Cafe 2U’s Franchisee Meeting. “The prize was a hiking trip to Cradle Mountain and I asked a customer, who has become a friend, if she would like to join me to the trip to Tassie.”
