Beds for Backs offers breakthrough bed design for couples

According to the US National Sleep Foundation, more than half of Australians share a bed.  However, approximately one in ten couples chooses to sleep alone as a result of interrupted sleep caused by their partner.

Beds for Backs inventor and Managing Director, Mario Piraino, said the current one-size-fits-all approach to mattresses has not changed in over 50 years.

Each mattress is then tailored specifically on both sides of the bed to suit each partner’s needs and preferences.  Partners can choose from a range of comfort levels including soft, medium or firm, which are then built into the mattress padding. The bedding can also be tailored to suit a variety of weight, shape and body types of each partner.

“Women have medium width shoulders, small waists and wider hips. Men have broader shoulders but similiar but smaller waist and hip width, explains Piraino.

“The corrections on each side of the bed therefore needing to be very different in order for each of the two bodies to be supported close to its natural alignment.”

The Beds for Backs patented couple beddings are available in two systems:

• A calibrated dial support system that allows fine tuning of body alignment with a simple turn of a dial.
• A block base support system that provides lift in the lumbar region and adjustments to the shoulder and hip zones for improved posture.
