Morley Bakers Delight franchise: even the Irish call Australia home

When Arthur and Rebecca Corniskey spent a year travelling around Australia from Ireland, they were so taken by the Bakers Delight franchise they decided to set their very own bakery franchise up.

The couple fell in love with the Australian lifestyle and settled in Morley, Perth in 1995.

The couple contacted existing baking franchisee owners around the nation and opened their first bakers Delight franchise in 1996, closely followed by a second in 1999.

“As soon as we started looking into becoming Bakers Delight franchisees we both knew it was for us. We put all our energy into our business and joined the Bakers Delight family,” Rebecca said, when asked about their bakery franchise.

About the baking franchise, she added, “We sold Nedlands Bakers Delight in 2005 and still have Morley, which in the same year achieved the highest sales of any franchise during the Christmas and Easter periods.”

The pair also ensure they have enough time out from their Bakers Delight franchise to focus on their other obsession: their two young children.

Rebecca also pointed out that both partners working in the bakery franchise is extremely beneficial to all concerned as they understood each others triumphs, as well as stresses.

The couple’s enthusiasm and drive for their baking franchise means they are in constant contact with other Bakers Delight franchise owners to keep on top of all updates in the bakery franchise field.

“One year we were selected for a national Bakers Delight TV commercial for St Patricks Day and Arthur was the star of the show jumping around and generally delighting onlookers,” Rebecca said, in regards to the baking franchise.

“Over the past 6 years we’ve gained so much from sharing our experiences, both good and bad, with other franchisees. It is reassuring to know there’s always someone you can call, whether you need advice or assistance with excel or MYOB for instance,” she said, about the Bakers Delight franchise.
