Anytime Fitness has big franchise plans
Global Anytime Fitness recently celebrated the opening of its 1,000th club and now has big expansion plans for Australia and New Zealand. Justin McDonell and Jacinta McDonell Jimenez, a brother and sister team of fitness industry veterans, are the Australian and New Zealand master franchisees for the fitness club chain and have plans to open 350 clubs in Australia within the next five years.
The original goal of opening at least 20 health and fitness franchise clubs within the first 12 months has been reached with 22 territories launched in six months across New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia and Western Australia.
“That’s where the territories are located so far”, said Jacinta. “But we’re coming to Queensland within the coming months and we’ve also got serious interest in the Northern Territory and Tasmania. I’d say by the middle of the year we’ll be in every Australian state.”
The training franchise brand was founded in the US in 2002. Anytime Fitness CEO, Jeff Klinger said “In two or three years we’ll have at least 2,500 clubs open in the US and we’ll have another 750 clubs open internationally. Right now, we see incredible opportunities for international growth.”
Anytime Fitness clubs are open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and operates in 46 US States, Canada and Australia, serving nearly 600,000 members.
