What spurred you to invest in your franchise?

Erica and I felt that a franchise was a wise investment as we didn’t have to reinvent the wheel in establishing a business. The next decision was the business that would interest us sufficiently to provide the stimulus and motivation required for our efforts to not only return a reasonable income but personal satisfaction.

The Energy Efficient Product Option was a no brainer for us as I already had a little experience with some of the range, and we liked the concept of all these products packaged at one source.

Allsafe’s willingness to act compliantly during the application process reassured us and the stores we visited impressed us in regards to presentation and as a customer service friendly environment.

The company’s philosophy of providing a complete supply only or supply and installation service for its total product range is what sets the business model apart from almost all other providers of energy efficient products.

How has the franchise affected your home life?

One significant benefit is enjoying the five day week. Of course as a husband and wife team we do discuss our day over a pre-dinner drink on our back deck but other than that work stays at work.

What has been the most rewarding part of running this franchise?
The fact that we are building something for ourselves, and using our products we help our clients to save money. The product range is easy to work with and is in demand with consumers as energy efficiency is very topical nowadays; the federal and state governments and some councils offer consumer financial rebates.

Sell us this franchise

Rebates represent a significant part of the sell price of solar hot water and solar power units, and Allsafe is able to offer renewable energy certificate (REC) rebates as a point of sale discount to the consumer and trade. The pay back is that the store bills them to an REC trading company which repays us these dollar values in quick time.

Our business has developed with consumer, trade and commercial customers. Some product lines can be seasonal such as insulation to the consumer, but the building trade operates all year round, so highs and lows can often even out.
