The 1800-GOT-JUNK? franchise was established in 1989 as “The Rubbish Boys” by Brian Scudamore, who was at the time a university student as a small junk removal service. The business concept and the innovative and fresh slogan, “We’ll Stash Your Trash in a Flash!” proved to be a success for the home services franchise over two consecutive summers and so the founder of the cleaning services franchise , Brian Scudamore decided to expand the business and made it a full time operation.

As a part of the expansion process, the name of the service was changed to 1800-GOT-JUNK?, a number of students were hired as drivers and the fleet of trucks was expanded. The intention of Brian Scudamore was to make 1800-GOT-JUNK? a household name.

The expansion and growth of the business was gradual until 1997, since then however the firm has grown exponentially. The home services franchise grew from being a single-outlet firm to covering four different countries - Australia, Canada, the United States of America and the United Kingdom.

Currently, the 1800-GOT-JUNK? franchise has over 300 outlets functioning in the four countries. The outlets are operated by highly trained and thoroughly professional lfranchisees.
