Strong business growth is fast tracking the expansion plans of homemaker and renovation supplies auctions house, AuctionsRus, which plans to have 20 franchises along the eastern seaboard in the next 18 months.

AuctionsRus has four outlets operating in Kelvin Grove, the Gold Coast, the Sunshine Coast and the central coast of New South Wales.

The franchise network’s managing director Ken Gargan said “We want to solidify our presence in South East Queensland and look for more franchise opportunities in NSW. Regular customers have recognised the ability of the home renovations auctions sector to perform solidly in challenging economic times and many have contacted us about taking up AuctionsRus franchises.”

Gargan said business from liquidation services was another factor driving the growth of AuctionsRus. “Prices in the sector have never been more competitive as more and more companies are looking to liquidate stock and assets before banks intervene,” he said. “Liquidated stock has given the industry a barrier against the poor economic climate.”
