Where did the Jumping J-Jays franchise come from?

The Jumping J-Jays franchise started in 1997 to provide an extensive range of inflatables to capture the inflatable castle franchise market. The bouncy castle franchise is a leader and innovator in backyard inflatable entertainment. Through product innovation and design, Jumping J-Jays franchise owner John Newton single handedly created what is now widely known as the “combo” castle featuring both a jumping room and bouncy slide.

Now the inflatable castle franchise is the largest of its kind in the world and founder John Newton has been recognised by International Inflatable Products and Games Association as its first international board of directors member.

Presently there are more than 30 bouncy castle franchise businesses across Australia and New Zealand.

Franchised in 2000, today the Jumping J-Jays franchise has more than 500 castles throughout its inflatable castle franchise network. Expectations for continued growth for the bouncy castle franchise are staggering. The Jumping J-Jays franchise has expansion plans to grow by 30 per cent each year to 2008.

The inflatable castle franchise’s growth was recognised in 2004 by BRW’s inclusion of the Jumping J-Jays franchise into Australia’s top 100 fastest growing companies.

So successful is the bouncy castle franchise that John has been honoured two years running by the Franchise Council of Australia as Franchisor of the Year Home-based and Mobile.

“Franchisees run their business primarily on Saturday and Sunday. Current franchisees still work full-time in their usual professions,” John said. “This makes the business a great additional income earner that for many becomes another full time wage.

“Adding up the benefits and looking at the bottom line you can continue you day job and turnover around $80,000 per annum on the weekend.

“Many franchises are achieving well over 100K per year with no shop rent, no debtors, no working capital, and best of all no major staffing headaches. Simple fantastic business.”
