What are the most frequently asked questions? What are the entry costs? The ALL INCLUSIVE upfront entry cost for an Award Bookkeeping Company Franchise is $35,000 plus GST. This includes all the business tools that you need to start your business. That means ALL MYOB and Quicken accounting software, business development and software training, branding and sales materials, printed stationery, manuals, software, professional memberships, advertising and much, much more.
Why do franchisees have to pay a Franchise Entry Fee? Franchisors spend years and hundreds of thousands of dollars developing a way of operating a specialised business that, when applied correctly, will be successful. Your franchise entry fee contributes partly to the cost of that development as-well-as the greater likelihood of success, the brand integrity and reputation plus all of the operational items the franchisor provides to get your business started such as training and software.
Are there ongoing fees? There is a Franchise Service Fee of 8% of Gross income and a Franchise Management Fee of $60 per week. On a business turnover of $80,000 p1a these average at 11.9%. For higher turnover businesses this percentage reduces significantly and at $200,000 p/a is as low as 6.5%. All fees are paid monthly
Will Award Bookkeeping Company teach me how to be a bookkeeper? Bookkeeping and Accounting skills can take years of study or experience to develop and it's unrealistic to believe you can learn what it takes in a few short weeks. You will be more successful in a business where you can confidently provide the service required of you. Imagine going to a mechanic who had only a few weeks training and no real experience! Would you feel confident that he would put your precious car together properly?
Should I get legal advice? Eventually, during the recruitment process, you should seek legal advice before entering into a Franchise Agreement.
Is there a professional franchise body who can help?
Award Bookkeeping Company is a member of the Franchise Council of Australia who is the leading body in franchising.
