Trios, the unique wrap franchise, will be the next
healthy fast food franchise to launch internationally with the signing of a master franchise agreement in Dubai with Master Franchisers.
The agreement is expected to result in five new stores launched in Dubai by December 2006 and signals massive expansion of the family owned franchise launched in 2002.
Trios Managing Director Mr David Elia said Trios was approached by Master Franchisers about the prospect of developing the franchise overseas.
“Obviously Master Franchisers was searching worldwide for a quick service concept, with the right product offering which lead them to identify Trios as the right fit for their market,” he said.
“We have always had the goal of expanding internationally and when Master Franchisers approached us we knew the time was right and we jumped at the opportunity to provide them with a Master Franchise agreement for our concept.”
Mr Elia said he was pleased with the partnership with Master Franchisers and respected their vision for Trios. “They have a clear and concise image of retail potential in the region and they have experience across many categories. They are financially sound and deliver every opportunity to surpass the growth expectations for our franchise.”
Trios’ signature product the Laffe, based on original Lebanese bread that the Elia brothers used to help their Mother make every second Friday because it wasn’t available in supermarkets, has become the lifeblood of a business worth $10 million in Australia.
“I believe the Laffe and the Trios concept will be received strongly in Dubai; given the links our product has with the Middle East and the focus on health and nutrition.
“The healthy fast food movement is continuing to burgeon and we are answering a consumer needs that is growing in importance and relevance, every day around the world.”
It is expected the Trios franchise will populate from five stores this year, to 50 throughout the Middle East region over the next five years. Mr. Roger Francis, General Manager, Master Franchisers said the company recognised the potential of the Trios franchise and its unique product offering.
“The Middle East represents one of the major launch pads for Trios into International markets and we are looking forward to contributing to the company’s growth in the region,” he said. Trios currently have 13 stores located in Melbourne and Sydney.
