The
7-Eleven Stores business is wholly owned in Australia by the Barlow and Withers families, and is the leading convenience store chain. The retail business was brought to Australia from the United States in the year 1977 and has since grown into a food and beverage chain that serves about 80 million customers. The
supermarket business is the first choice of Australians in convenience stores.
The
food and beverage business opened its first ever store in Australia on the suburbs of Melbourne. The supermarket franchise opened its first 24 hour store and the first franchised store in Melbourne also. In the year 1981, the retail business entered Sydney and five years later, opened its 100th store. The year 2000 witnessed the food and beverage chain purchase the fuel sites of Burmah.
In the year 2003, the food and beverage business opened its 300th store, and is currently looking forward to opening the 400th store. In addition to the diverse range of products available at the food and beverage franchise’s stores, the special offers are what have driven customers to the stores. The supermarket franchise has been able to thrive in Australia due to these additional benefits its stores offer customers.
