The LookSmart Alterations franchise is reportedly the largest clothing alterations business in Australia with branches in five states. Customers of the retail business comprise more than 1000 fashion stores including Gianni Versace, David Jones, Grace Bros and Myer, Oxford Shop and Country Road. Corporate clients of the clothing and footwear business include NBC, IBM, Australian Customs Service and Department of Finance and Administration of the New South Wales Government.
In the retail market, LookSmart Alterations serves tens of thousands of individual customers. The retail business had been chosen as one of the tree successful franchises to feature on the Australian TV Show “Bright Ideas” in May 2002. In the same year, Abraham Hatoum, the founder of LookSmart, was recognized by ‘The Australian’ newspaper as one of the 50 most successful businessmen in the last five years.
The same year saw the success of the LookSmart franchise system featured in the ‘Franchising’ magazine with a full page editorial. In 2001, the national ‘My Business’ Awards gave LookSmart Alterations the Best Customer Service Award. LookSmart Alterations had won the prestigious contract to be the Official Tailor of the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games.
