The Honda Australia MPE franchise started operation in Melbourne in 1969 which soon extended to sale of power equipment and mini bikes in Victoria. The automotive franchise soon took over the private distribution in Australia and followed it with the establishment of its manufacturing unit. The car sales business commenced the Honda Australia Rider Training in 1989 and continued the onward journey towards success.
The car sales business spread the business to Campbellfield and slowly to other parts of the country. The establishment of Honda Australia MPE’s Rider Training in Kilsyth also saw it gaining the quality assurance accreditation. The automotive franchise’s of 4 stroke outboard motors were brought under the a new sales division of Marine Department. Just before Honda’s fiftieth anniversary in 1998, the car sales business introduced the 4-Stroke Brushcutter and GC/GCV Engines.
Honda Australia MPE saw the launch of a number of new products as well as outlet in the period from 200 to 2006. Some of the memorable events include the establishment of the St Ives training centre, world's first 225hp 4-stroke outboard with advanced V-TEC technology and the launch of Honda MPE Financial Services among many others. The automotive franchise also saw itself winning a number of motorbike championships in the 2000’s.
