The rich flavours of Spanish chocolate and the fried-dough snacks, churros, are the hallmark of Sydney's latest chocolate haven,
Chocolateria San Churro in Glebe.
Kelly Smith, the founder of the Melbourne based franchise, plans to open a third Sydney outlet this spring (the second is in Miranda) and has four stores in her home town.
Inspiration for the
chocolate cafe experience, which combines old world Spanish indulgence with a contemporary atmosphere, came from the story of a Spanish monk who believed in the healing powers of chocolate as a gift from God that should be appreciated internationally.
The
chocolate franchise menu additions to the crispy churros, dipped in melted chocolate, are the Trufas Fritas, hand made dark chocolate truffles, ice creams with couveture chocolate and shakes, and of course, hot chocolate.
