Sunshine Coast – Going from strength to strength

When Dan and Amanda Rogers learned from their good mate David Reid that he was looking at expanding his enormously successful New Zealand-based company into the Australian market, they didn’t waste any time in packing their bags and heading ‘across the ditch”. After working with David Reid Homes for a couple of years as an independent lighting consultant, Amanda had already seen first-hand the focus on quality and integrity that underpinned every part of the company that has won more awards than any other home builder in New Zealand.

“We just knew straight away that it was something we wanted to be a part of,” Amanda explains as she relates the story of how her family friend and widelyacclaimed builder was looking at taking his successfully franchised business off-shore. Dan adds: “The opportunity to move to Australia, and head up the first franchise of a company we had both admired for years was very exciting. The decision was made that much easier because not only is Dave a great friend of ours, we’d seen how DRH works and we knew just how professional they were.”

Dan and Amanda’s first priority was to assemble a team of expert designers, project managers, lighting consultants, landscape architects and other professionals who would form the core of the new franchise, based at Peregian Beach. The construction of a stunning Showhome at Peregian Springs was the first project the new team tackled, and when that home immediately won a Master Builders’ Housing and Construction Award, it was a telling sign of big things to come for this dynamic duo and their close-knit team.

After many years spent with the New Zealand Police Service, Dan places an enormous importance on honesty and integrity - across all aspects of the business. “Our business is really all about the strength of the relationships we’re able to build – and that applies to our customers, our contractors and our suppliers. I think people have really responded to the fact that we’re 100% up-front with them right from the word go. Whilst I’m more involved in the day-to-day management of the company, Amanda and I are personally involved in every step of our client’s journey with us and our door is always open – even if it’s just for a bit of a catch up over a cold beer.

With the focus on quality, integrity and open communication that Dan and Amanda apply to everything they do, it’s no surprise that their Sunshine Coast Northern franchise has been a shining star in the growth of David Reid Homes’ successful expansion into Australia.
