CHOOKS fresh & tasty franchisees Geoff Watson and Mark Morton are clucking with pride following their recent CHOOKS fresh & tasty Franchisee of the Year win.
Chief Chook and founder of CHOOKS fresh & tasty franchise Steve Hansen said the Stratton franchisees were chosen out of a possible 26 number of candidates following their outstanding 2006/ 2007 financial year results and contribution to the group.
“With 35 CHOOKS franchises across Australia contending the title, winning the prestigious CHOOKS fresh & tasty Franchisee of the Year award is no mean feat,” he said. “I congratulate Geoff and Mark on their hard work and continued commitment to the Stratton community.”
Mark said he had not expected to win the award but acknowledged it was a great coup for the partners who will be celebrating the store’s fifth anniversary in December.
“We’re thrilled to accept this award and wish to share it with our team at CHOOKS Stratton and all our faithful customers,” he said. “Thank you for your continued support which has made our store so successful over the past five years.
“While Geoff and I weren’t aiming to win the award, we do feel honoured and believe it’s simply a testament to the hard work, quality product and exceptional customer service found at CHOOKS Stratton.”
Mr Morton said after winning the award he spent some time reflecting on his experience as a CHOOKS franchisee.
“After many years trying to get our own small businesses off the ground, Geoff and I decided to try our hand at running a franchise,” he said. “We did our homework and discovered there was an opportunity to open a CHOOKS franchise right in our own backyard.
“We were impressed by the CHOOKS business model and support system in place and were won over by the security of buying into a company with a unique product offering and a proven history of success.
“Five years down the track and we’ve never looked back; opening CHOOKS Stratton was the best business decision Geoff and I have made and winning this award is simply the icing on the cake.”
