With a couple of young water rats of their own, Dan and Amanda Rogers from the
David Reid Homes franchise have just announced their decision to become Major Sponsors of the Noosa Swim Club, a club that is growing in numbers and reputation – having achieved second place overall in last season’s Wide Bay and Sunshine Coast District Championships. With a focus on fitness, fun and friendship, the Noosa Swim Club is based at the Noosa Aquatic Centre, where, in addition to the Olympic facilities, a new 25m pool has just opened.
Part of Dan and Amanda’s sponsorship included a recent donation of $1000 to assist World Record holders Jana Clancy and Clinton Stanley in travelling to Ireland to compete in the 3rd Downs Syndrome International Swimming Championships. Amanda says of their sponsorship: “With 2 boys of our own, we know how expensive it can be sometimes for kids to be involved in sport, so when the opportunity came up to help out at the Noosa Swim Club, we were really happy to be able to do that. Just to see the looks on Jana and Clinton’s faces when they were told we were helping them get to Ireland was fantastic.”
Dan and Amanda are also heavily involved with the Coolum Beach SLSC – where they are both active beach patrol members. Dan is a Patrol Captain, and is also on the Surf Boat crew, and if you’re ever looking for Amanda, you’ll find her down at Coolum Beach on Sunday mornings where she’s actively involved with the Nippers program.
