The Hungry Jack’s franchise belongs to the franchise of the Burger King Corporation. The fast food business has its operations in Australia since 1971. The take away business opened its first restaurant in Innaloo, Perth. On seeing the demand for its products, Hungry Jacks opened its successive stores in South Australia and Queensland.
Within the first ten years of its inception, Hungry Jack’s expanded its operations to 26 restaurants in three states. The fast food business has purchased 11 restaurants from Wendy’s Hamburger Chain in 1986. In 1990, Competitive Foods franchised the restaurants of Hungry Jacks as independent businesses.
In the meantime, Burger King planned to open company-owned and franchised operations in Australia. But, the plan was later dropped, on the view that the established brand name of Hungry Jack’s will be the right choice for expansion. As of now, the fast food business operates through more than 300 locations all over Australia.
Hungry Jack’s has achieved a prominent position in the “quick service restaurant’ sector in Australia. The take away business has kept its word promised in the tag, ‘the burgers are better at Hungry Jack’s’.
