As local business people themselves, Steve and Kim Silvi of Worldwide Online Printing know a thing or two about the trials and tribulations of small business management and growth.
That’s why they didn’t have to think too long before agreeing to the printing solutions franchise being the official print sponsors of this year’s Gosnells City Business & Tourism Business Awards.
“Sometimes in small business we’re all so busy that we forget to recognise the quality providers and real innovators in our field,” said centre owner Steve Silvi. “We’re delighted to be able to sponsor local awards that do just that.”
Worldwide printing services franchise Gosnells has designed and printed the nomination packs for the awards, along with other items, including menus and certificates. All the material is being printed on Worldwide’s range of environmentally friendly paper.
Worldwide business services Green is one of the few papers made entirely from post-consumer waste. It’s therefore much better for the environment than paper made from pre-consumer waste because the material has already been used as a consumer item, like a milk carton or box, before being recycled and reconstituted into paper.
Any business which operates within the City of Gosnells is eligible to enter, and business can enter any of the 18 Business Category Awards ranging from New, or Home Based Business, through to Business of the Year.
Alternatively, if members of the public have had an excellent experience with a local business or business person and feel they deserve public recognition, they can be nominated for one of the two Community Awards.
The Gosnells centre is sponsoring two category awards – one for Professional Services and the other for Innovation & Marketing.
“We’re part of a great business community here in Gosnells. It’s really rewarding to be part of a set of awards that recognises that,” says Kim Silvi.
“Anyone can nominate an achieving business. If you think you know a fantastic local business, don’t wait for someone else to nominate – do it yourself!” said Steve.
The judging panel consists of four independent professionals who are chosen for their independence and experience in small business operations.
Three finalists will be selected for each category, with one winner in each category. The winners will be announced at a Gala Awards Dinner. The event is a major project of the Gosnells City Business & Tourism Association and provides a fantastic opportunity to celebrate with staff, family members and friends.
“Good luck to all small businesses in the community – there’s a lot of worthy competitors this year!”
