Pet Mobile trailers were used to set the Guinness World Record for dog washing? It’s a fact! In September 2003, students from the Veterinary Science Foundation at the University of Sydney set out to break the record for the highest number of dogs washed and toweled dry by 12 people in 8 hours.
The University used 6
dog wash trailers for the attempt, which was conducted at Sydney Olympic Park, and 5 of those trailers were Pet Mobile Grooming Salons -the same Salon that is still used by our Franchisees today!
From their experience in previous Vet. Science Open Days, where Pet Mobile Franchisees provided trailers for the Students to do dog washes in exchange for a donation to the Vet. Science Foundation, the University knew that no other trailer equaled ours for the throughput of work in a day.
The previous record, held by a Dutch university Group, was 715 dogs. The University of Sydney students smashed that mark, doing 848 dogs, and could have done even more if they hadn’t run out of dogs with about 20 minutes of time still to run!
As far as we’re aware, the record still stands. It’s a testament to the outstanding design of the Pet Mobile Mobile Grooming Salon, and because it’s a Registered Design, it’s exclusive to Pet Mobile!
