Opening new doors – exclusive David Reid Homes supplier agreement announced

The reputation that David Reid Homes enjoys for our focus on quality is a jealously guarded one. The success we’ve enjoyed so far has only come about because of our rock-solid determination to be the best, and our unwavering insistence on the highest standards across everything we do. Especially in a business like ours, where we work with a variety of external suppliers to provide specialised products or services that focus on quality becomes even more critical. Whilst many different suppliers are involved in the construction of any new home - ultimately it’s our name and reputation that’s reflected in the finished product. That’s why we’re very picky about who we work with and why we’ll only ever choose those suppliers who demonstrate the same commitment to quality that we do.

XO Interior Systems are one such company, and David Reid Homes are thrilled to announce a partnership agreement with XO which means that every franchise in the David Reid Homes network now has exclusive access to XO’s extraordinary range of high quality fittings. Operating from a state-of-the-art facility in south Brisbane, XO Interior Systems supply a unique range of sliding doors, wardrobe fit outs, aluminium kitchen doors and benchtop edging. With the largest selection of profiles and glass types available in Australia, and a white-hot focus on quality control, XO’s products are funky, functional, and a natural fit for the demanding standards set by David Reid Homes.

XO’s Managing Director, Christian Christensen explains why XO’s reputation with architects and designers is unequalled: “All of our aluminium is extruded in Spain using titanium dies, before being sent to Germany for anodising and quality checking prior to shipping into Australia. We use only the highest quality, furniture grade aluminium which ensures a consistent thickness, colour, finish and superior strength.” When asked why XO use a more expensive titanium die, instead of more commonly used steel dies, Christian tells that it’s all about consistency. “Steel dies wear very quickly and need to be replaced regularly. Even a couple of days can mean the profiles and fittings won’t match perfectly. With a titanium die, if we ever need to replace a damaged profile - even years later - we can still achieve exactly the same size, weight, colour and quality as the original. It’s this sort of attention to detail and focus on quality that allows us to offer a 20 year warranty on all our sliding doors.”

XO’s products recently made their ‘debut’ with David Reid Homes when the Baja, a stunning new Showhome at Pelican Waters on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast was opened to the public. Franchise Director, Melissa Brinsdon tells: “We’ve had so many comments about the XO products it’s been amazing - especially with the sliding doors we’ve used in the bedrooms. People love the fact that you can mix and match the panels to suit your decor, but I think it’s the quality of the actual sliding mechanisms and the ‘weight’ of the doors that most people comment on. You can actually feel the quality. XO offer a 20 year warranty on all their sliding doors, and that says a lot about their confidence in what they produce.”

Melissa adds that the real significance of David Reid Homes’ exclusive agreement with XO means that so much more can now be achieved at the design stage. “Our access to XO’s full range of products means that we can incorporate them into the initial design of your home. XO’s sliding doors can be used as wardrobe doors or cavity sliders, but they also make stunning room dividers as well.

“In terms of co-ordinating with your decor and other design elements, we can supply XO panels and doors in perforated steel, laminated glass, veneered timber, mirrors - the options are endless. There really is nothing else in the marketplace that compares. Our designers are really enjoying working with the clean lines and the elegance of XO’s products. We’ve already been working on some fantastic new ideas and unique applications for incorporating the XO range into our designs.”

Expect to see more of the XO product range included in David Reid Showhomes across Australia, as XO works with our individual franchises to find even more ways of incorporating the extraordinary qualities of their products into the design and construction of our unique home designs.
