Fourteen years ago, the
‘A’ 4 MATHS dream was to create a network of
learning centres designed to build children’s confidence in their mathematic abilities and provide an effective way of learning maths targeting an improvement in marks.
Today that is a reality with a network of approximately 15,000 students experiencing the benefits of success in their marks, through the encouragement and effective teaching methods used at A 4 Maths.
A 4 Maths guarantees success through their
multi-sensory teaching approach, which is designed to engage as many of the student’s senses as possible during the learning process, in order to encourage recognition, understanding and stimulate the students memory.
A 4 Maths combines positive motivation, friendly encouragement, special teacher-designed textbooks with audio tutorials, hands-on learning materials, accompanied with computer based practice and one-on-one coaching to increase the students learning skills and provide a teaching method that is adaptable enough to appeal to all students.
After mastering the concepts in the texts and tutorials, students particularly enjoy the computer based learning activities to consolidate their new skills and confidence. Through this form of multi-sensory technology, maths can be transformed into a medium which children relate to through the incorporation of various games and activities into the learning process.
Each student is closely supervised to monitor any difficulties encountered and reduce the risk of students struggling with their maths studies. A 4 Maths aims to alter students’ perceptions of mathematics as being boring and difficult, and transform this perception into a positive one.
A 4 Maths continues to see results with each of its students. Philip McRonald, from Mona Vale in NSW, personally wrote in to thank A 4 Maths for helping his daughter, saying
“You did your job well! My daughter, Estelle (Yr 8) improved from 48% to 98% and is being promoted from general maths to advanced! Thank you."17-Sep-2007
