Margaret River resident Lynette Cloutman is looking forward to the challenges ahead as she takes on sole management and ownership of
Chooks fresh & tasty Margaret River on Sunday July 8.
Lynette said she had been the co-owner of the Margaret River store for the past 11 months, moving into the area to be closer to the store and become more integrated in the local community.
“I’m already quite involved in the community but I am looking forward to developing closer relationships with locals and helping out the community in any way I can,” she said.
“I’m already involved with the Margaret River Junior Soccer Club because my son plays on the team.
“The store sponsors the club through the Chooks Supporters Card program and we also provide the ‘player of the match’ award.
“The store has also donated prizes, Chooks tattoos and balloons for school discos at the Margaret River Primary School. The school is involved in our Supporters Card Program and we provide chip vouchers for kids to encourage good behaviour.”
Lynette originally lived in Perth and worked in the childcare industry for six years until she decided it was time for a change and moved to Busselton.
It was in here that her career with Chooks began where she worked for twelve months initially as a cashier, then a kitchen-hand and eventually a manager.
“I started out as a cashier at Chooks out of necessity but over time it grew into more than that.”
Following her time at Chooks Busselton, she became a share owner of Chooks Margaret River, which prompted her to move to the local area where she been managing the store since last year. One of her goals for the future was to open another Chooks store in Vasse.
To celebrate Chooks Margaret River store’s new management Lynette will be putting on a ‘$3 day’ at the store on Sunday July 8 for the local community. There will be face painting, coloured hair spraying, balloons and lollipops for the kids on the day.
“I want to celebrate my good fortune with the community that ensures my success. On Sunday people can come in and get chicken rolls, chicken burgers, bacon burgers, sub burgers, 1pce fried & chips, 6 nuggets & chips, chipees & sauce, family chips or small chips & 390ml drink for just $3.”
The Chooks Margaret River store is located at Shop 12, Town Square, Bussell Highway, Margaret River.
