CHOOKS fresh & tasty multi-franchisee Marcus Delany is flying high with pride following his recent “CHOOKS fresh & tasty Franchisee of the Year 2007-08” award win.
Employing just under 20 local team members at his CHOOKS Coolbellup store Marcus is an integral part of the local community and his efforts and outstanding business growth and drive have placed him in the top spot within CHOOKS fresh & tasty
chicken franchise.
“I had no clue I was going to win because there were many other worthy contenders and each of them were just as deserving,” he said.
“I feel proud and honoured to be recognised by my peers and thank Steve Hansen and the CHOOKS Encouragement Centre team for their recognition, support and encouragement, and for continually challenging me.
“This award win can be contributed to setting up new structures within my business to form a strong basis for growth in the future which has allowed me to work on the business rather than in it, plus has given me time to contribute to the CHOOKS
fast food franchise group both at a franchisee and franchisor level.
“Business growth is another main factor in my award win – my group of stores has grown above the CHOOKS fresh & tasty benchmarks in terms of sales, sales growth and profitability.”
Mr Delany who owns CHOOKS
take away franchise Coolbellup as well as CHOOKS Byford, Maddington and Canning Vale said since buying his first CHOOKS store he had never looked back.
“From the very beginning of my journey with CHOOKS I have enjoyed my interaction with the Encouragement Centre. The team members there are always willing to assist franchisees in terms of support, advice and encouragement.
“Plus being a multi-franchisee provides me with a vehicle for growth and wealth creation without having to work on the floor, but at a more challenging level.
“It gives me time to actually learn from other people and participate in the CHOOKS franchise group and attend seminars, conferences and training courses to learn more about business development and growth.”
CHOOKS’ Chief Chook Mr Steve Hansen said Marcus was committed to his employees, product and community.
“Marcus has played an active role in the Coolbellup community providing employment to local members, and developing ongoing community sponsorship programs,” he said.
“He has helped develop his team members’ skills and has strategically sold his product which has contributed to his outstanding 2007/08 financial year results.
“We have recognised his hard work and success as well as his repeated contributions to the entire franchise group by awarding him with the highly contested CHOOKS fresh & tasty franchisee of the Year 2007-08 award. Marcus also took out the ‘Coke Service Star’ award for the highest increase in Coke purchases comparing this year to last year.
“With the franchisees of all 37 CHOOKS stores across Australia contending for the ‘Franchisee of the Year’ title, winning this particular award is no mean feat. I congratulate Marcus on his hard work and continued commitment to the communities his stores are located in.”
Marcus said looking forward he had many targets he wanted to achieve for his business.
“I have many business goals in mind. In the short term I would like to consolidate my business’ condition in terms of processes and action; over the next 18 months to two years I will be looking at setting up another three CHOOKS stores with my executive management team and in the long term I aim to set up another 5-6 stores.”
